John Wesley's Table Grace
When we were growing up, our father would lead us in John Wesley's Table Grace:
"Be present at our table, Lord,
Be here and everywhere adored.
These mercies bless and grant that we
May feast in fellowship with Thee."
I since learned there was music to accompany this as there was music to the other grace we sang:
"Morning (Noontime, Evening) is here,
The board is spread.
Thanks be to God
Who gives us bread.
Amen."
This morning, my prayer is becoming,
"Thank You for Your Presence in my brother, Lord.
I appreciate You here and everywhere, adored.
Thank You for this food and fellowship.
