Global Civilizations

The intent of this blog was to show my progress studying the content of the Global Civilizations curriculum I helped produce in 1992. I expected to update it with current examples from my life as time went on.

We have been gardening together since the fall of 2001. John sifts the soil and Lee grows the greens. We prefer greens and roots in the winter and harder stemmed veggies in the summer such as peppers and cucumbers. John looks after his worms and tumbles compost. Lee tracks the seeds and the work schedule here in the northwest Mojave Desert.

Love is. The night sky glistens with stars and stories. Orion is setting the his role a warrior on the heart on behalf of love nearly complete in the universe. There is no longer any perceived place of Love’s absence—including within me—this my open eyes to Love’s presence all around.
My sleep is peaceful, my dreams, joyful and my countinance, happy. I wake with the sun. The automatic, organic house has already adjusted the ventilation to accommodate the cool of the night sto store and release for the day. The solar collectors are already gathering light for the energy needs of the next 24 hours with some to spare (to share on rainy days).
The neighborhood community of voluntary brothers, sisters and families rejoice in our heart for another day to express the love within us.
The Boss in the neighborhood is well aware of her feelings and is sharing them with the Achiever around the corner over a cup of tea.
The Tragic/Romantic has changed her name to Gaia, Mother Earth. She looks in the mirror and sees in her face all the cultures of the world. As she stands there naked, a slight tear of joy comes to ther eye with the realization of her beauty without a single adornment—indeed, even without her body. She eventually chooses an outfit transparent to her inner radiance.
Mr. Ambivalent is still in his security uniform out of habit and choice rather than need. He playfully taps on Miss Observer’s window to see if she is up. When he gets no response, he peeks around into the open backyard and finds her already dancing in her May flower dress with Mr. Perfectionist in the garden. He laughs aloud in his delight and gratitude.
Mr. Dreamer is in his office working on his 30-year mandala of sand grains. Mrs. Helper had found some new colors he wanted to try out.
