Global Civilizations

The intent of this blog was to show my progress studying the content of the Global Civilizations curriculum I helped produce in 1992. I expected to update it with current examples from my life as time went on.

We have been gardening together since the fall of 2001. John sifts the soil and Lee grows the greens. We prefer greens and roots in the winter and harder stemmed veggies in the summer such as peppers and cucumbers. John looks after his worms and tumbles compost. Lee tracks the seeds and the work schedule here in the northwest Mojave Desert.

From Isolation in Homelessness

I finished reading Thinking in Systems: A Primer by Donella Meadows last month. I've realized how we organise our thoughts is the most important system. Later, I met with a leader who expressed interest in reaching out to the homeless population around us. This is my thought for today that I feel helps reverse separation thinking.
Those who have joined their brothers have detached themselves from the belief that their identity lies in the ego.
(This is from A Course in Miracles, Complete Edition, Chapter 21, Section IV, Paragraph 3).

I think this not only speaks to the fellowship that can be found in voluntary associations, but any relationship.

Peace.
